For born and raised East Coasters such as myself, night skiing is something we grew up with. Friday nights after school got out and it was time to head to the icy mountains and ski until they shut the lights off.
Well, in Colorado night skiing can be rare. With so much terrain the resorts in Colorado have a lot more territory to cover when trying to shut down for the day. That being said, there are a few resorts that illuminate their slopes after the sun goes down, giving people a chance to experience a few nighttime turns.
At Keystone they boast the longest ski day in Colorado with some trails staying open until 8 pm, along with keeping their famous Area 51 terrain park open until 6 pm. Watch the sunset from Summit House right before you take a few laps to wrap up your evening.
